Back for the autumn!
🌅 Unwinding on the stunner of an island that is Sardinia 🇮🇹 I am now back at my desk, albeit taking things slowly as I get back into work. I’ve got existing clients to get back in touch with and a few pieces of ongoing work with my fantastic, loyal clients. But, I am looking for a new opportunity for later in the year. Read on for more….
After immersing myself in a well-deserved escape, I've emerged refreshed, and ready to dive back in to this final quarter (and a bit) of 2023.
Sometimes, we're in such constant motion that we don't realise our batteries are depleting. I can say with certainty that burnout had crept up on me - sneakily and quietly - leaving me feeling anxious and ill. Since my hubby and I went on our unforgettable travels to Jordan back in May, life's been a whirlwind — with an overflowing inbox and the challenges that come with continuous work, many demands although great as it to be be busy, it was taking its toll. I adore the freedom that freelancing grants me, but it's undeniable that it began to weigh heavy on my health. It became imperative to step back, and satiate my hubby's & mine ever-growing wanderlust by crossing off another dream destination from our list ✈️
This break made me appreciate the importance of self-nurturing and introspection. In the relentless hustle & bustle of the arts sector - the constant fight for the money, demands on resources, the socio-political landscape... the list goes on; it's easy to forget we're meant to 'be' as much as we're meant to 'do'.
✨ As I step back into the fray, and ngl, waking up this morning filled me with a renewed anxiety, as the metaphorical 'battle' in the arts continues, I urge everyone to seek out treasured moments of stillness, those escapes, be they brief getaways or profound journeys. We owe it to our minds, bodies, and those dear to us to be our optimal selves 🌼
As a reminder to folks who might not know what I can help with, I have skills & experience in the following:
facilitation
fundraising
leadership
strategic & organisation development
education/learning
programming
project management
event and/or artist producing
participation
engagement
children & young people
Feedback from clients often paints me as a 'force for transformation', 'innate innovator', and an ‘agitator’ ... a 'catalyst for change', a 'natural change-maker' and a ‘disruptor’. I pride myself on seeing/cutting through the noise. A lover of learning, I am skilled in leadership and people management.
