Development Director: LYNNEBEC

I joined Cat & Jess, Co-Directors of LYNNEBEC as Senior Producer on Birmingham 2022’s Athletes Welcome Ceremonies back at the beginning of 2022. They’ve since invited me to join them more permanently as Co-Director (Development). I said yes!

We’ve just secured ACE funding for a “levelling up” project (love a buzzword 😝) around the company’s outputs - artistic and organisational. I am going to be working with the company on everything development: from fundraising, income streams, organisation structures and systems and partnerships. This is all as the company prepares for a summer of gigs, where ‘You’re Out of This World’ will be out and about around the UK. Watch this space!

For context, here’s what I did with them in 2022….

I co-led and oversaw Birmingham-based physical theatre, queer led performance company LYNNEBEC on their newly commissioned outdoor promenade show, ‘A Thousand Welcomes’ for the Athlete’s Welcome Ceremonies, where the show welcomed 4,600 athletes to Brum to during Birmingham 2022. You can read more about the success of these ceremonies, on my blog.

The colourful cast performing A Thousand Welcomes live at the University of Warwick, July 2022.
