Arts Fundraising Consultant: Creative Black Country

Creative Black Country, a Creative People and Places project based in the Black Country runs an initiative called Fundraising Fellowship Scheme to support fundraising for communities involved in arts and culture activities in the region for these challenging times and help boost fundraising capacity in the Black Country. The scheme includes training, mentor support and real-life experience for people looking to develop fundraising skills for their work or organisation. Overseen by CBC’s experienced Fundraising Manager Yvonne Gregory, my role is to advise, support and facilitate learning about:

  • where to start BEFORE you begin fundraising, all of the beginning bits like have you got a business plan?

  • fundraising essentials and need to know tips/advice

  • ACE project grants detailed support for any size application

The aims of the scheme are to:

  • support emerging fundraisers or those whose role may need these skills e.g. community group lead, coordinator or producer

  • support the community groups, organisations, festivals who may only need someone for a few days, or on a project basis, who can’t afford to pay a fundraiser.

  • create a fundraising resource that could be shared across the region

  • raise the profile of fundraising as a career choice (a role always in demand!!)
