Executive Producer: Flexus Dance Collective

I’ve been working with Katy, Jade and the Flexus team on and off since lockdown in 2020. They first approached me to support them with fundraising to ACE’s emergency recovery funds… since then we’ve worked together in short bursts… including planting the seeds and strategically planning for the development of the company, turning the company into a CIC AND developing and broadening their artistic projects.

In early 2021 we had a team visioning session looking at how to realise and grow one of Katy’s existing pieces, taking it from R&D (completed on 2015) to a large scale work…

Which is a nice segway into their latest news: All About The Fight is back and it is going to be bigger and better than ever! Thanks to £55k investment from Arts Council England, I’ll be supporting the company to expand the project to the East Midlands (and a few other things which is a watch this space moment!).

After an epic year last year, presenting the work as part of Birmingham 2022 - including sport side presentations at the games’ live boxing events, it’s back!

All About The Fight is a multi strand project, fusing dance forms with boxing and Grime music in an authentic way. It includes a professional Grime Dance Theatre work by Sterran Dance with live grime performances, #WeArePowerful youth curtain closer opportunity (the final ‘round’ of the professional show), education & participation strands, a sector symposium to share learning and my role: fundraising, partnership development and future sustainability (we’ve got big ambitions!).
