Executive Producer: Xzibit Young Creatives

In late 2021 and all of 2022, I co-led hip hop theatre project Xzibit Young Creatives. We’re currently in planning stages for activity in 2024-25, so more info will be coming soon.

It is an Arts Council England dance participation project called; Xzibit (pronounced exhibit) Young Creatives. I work as Executive Producer, supporting Artistic Directors Gareth Woodward & Jasmine M Eccles. I lead on fundraising, project strategy & development, which before the 2022 project, led to 18 months of delivery until October 2022. XYC in its original format & structure, has run across the East Midlands very successfully since it was conceived & first run in 2012.

A beacon of creative innovation in supporting the next generation of hip hop dance creators, the project is an award winning choreographic & talent development programme for aspiring young choreographers & dancers from across the region aged between 11-19 years. It has been supported by Arts Council England National Lottery Project Grants since 2018 & represents a significant step–change for the next generation of choreographic innovators. The team (proudly & importantly, artist-led) is now, thanks to an investment of £95,000 from Arts Council England made in August 2021, exploring beyond the East Mids, connecting with West Midlands and National partners. From 2024 onwards, Xzibit will go national.
